Synopsis[edit]

"After Gil dies he helps Bartman fight against criminals."

Plot[edit]

Outside Frink Labs, Three Face is fighting against Bartman and Houseboy. Professor Frink tells Bartman that Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney were doing community service in his lab when they must have broken into his fusion chamber, leading to the three of them getting fused together. As Three Face goes to loot the lab, Bartman uses Houseboy as bait to lure them to the roof. When they get to the roof, Salesman, the alter-ego of Gil Gunderson, shows up. Salesman tells Bartman and Houseboy that he wants to help and uses his unsold products to fight. After Bartman and Houseboy blind Three Face, they trip over Salesman's briefcase and are defeated. Salesman then uses his swinging rope to leave, but instead falls to his death.

Bart and Milhouse attend Gil's funeral and Bart blames himself for Gil's death. Gil then appears as a ghost to Bart and Bart decides to accept him as a sidekick. However, Gil appears to be even more incompetent as a ghost sidekick as he scares the police off, letting Snake get away, and distracts Bartman during an encounter with The Sour Note. Feeling down about these losses, Bart talks to Grampa about it who tells Bart to make Gil go into the light.

At Frink Labs again, Nelson had been doing community service and drank a formula, thinking it was soda. He then turned into The Fizz and started to trash the lab. Gil then showed up and got distracted talking to Professor Frink as Bartman fought against The Fizz. Bartman tells Gil that he left his soda-fighting tools in the light and Gil heads up to Heaven to try and find them. Bartman then gets The Fizz trapped inside a bottle, defeating him.

Later that week, Bartman and Houseboy were swinging through town when they saw Gil on a rooftop, back in his body. Gil told the pair that he got rejected from Heaven and Hell and ended up taking up his old body again. Bartman then comes up with an idea and has Gil sell his weapons to Snake. When Snake tries to use a boxing glove bazooka, it backfires and knocks him out. The police arrive and arrest Snake and Bartman thanks Gil for his help.
