- Lisa asks to go to Princeton University in 1959 to meet Albert Einstein, to Florence, Italy to meet Leonardo da Vinci, and to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in 1864 to meet Abraham Lincoln.
- Milhouse plays Harry Houdini whilst Lisa plays Bess Houdini.
- When Lisa says that the house is as big as a time machine, Bart says that it's a house that flies through time and space, a reference to the TARDIS from Doctor Who. Bart also has a "sonic laser gun" that can fix anything, a reference to the sonic screwdriver.
- Professor Frink's Frinkomatic Chrono-Corrector is also a parody of the TARDIS.
