Synopsis[edit]
Marge sends Homer out to buy a box of diapers.
Maggie is playing with some toy soldiers, and Marge notices that she needs a diaper change. Marge sets Maggie down on a small table and looks for diapers, but can't find any. Realizing that she's out of diapers, Marge asks Homer to come into the kitchen. The invitation at first makes Homer's face light up (as he thinks she's baked a pie), but he is crestfallen when she asks him to go get a box of diapers for Maggie, who is still on the table happily playing with the toy soldiers. Homer is miffed at being stuck with the chore, but nonetheless gets into his car and drives off to get the diapers.
As he drives, Homer is distracted by the sight of Moe's Tavern and decides to stop in for a drink. He takes a seat at the bar and has a beer with Carl, Lenny and Barney. He then suddenly remembers that Maggie needs diapers, and the situation is urgent as she has a soiled diaper and is all out. Leaving his half-finished beer behind, Homer dashes out to his car (to the puzzlement of Moe and the bar customers) and drives to the Kwik-E-Mart, where he quickly buys a box of diapers. He then hurriedly drives back home and bursts into the kitchen with the diapers. Marge looks perturbed at how long Homer took, and Bart and Lisa look amused, anticipating Homer's getting a tongue-lashing from Marge. Maggie, however, is still on the table and is happy to see Homer, even though she's wearing the tablecloth as a diaper.
