Guinness World Records are awards handed out to people, objects, shows, movies and a lot of other things to show that they hold a record. Each record is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. The Simpsons has won a few awards.

Longest Running Animated TV Series in America[edit]

The Simpsons is currently the longest running animated TV series in the USA, with 666 episodes made in over 30 years of the show being on the air.

Longest Running Sitcom (Episode Count)[edit]

The Simpsons is also the longest running sitcom in the USA, a title it has held since 2009.

Most Emmy Awards Won by an Individual[edit]

James L. Brooks, writer, producer and director, received his 19th Emmy in August 2006, more than any other individual person.

Most Emmy Awards Won for an Animated TV Series[edit]

In September 2003, The Simpsons won its 20th Emmy, more than any other animated TV series. Note: In 2014, the show won its 30th Emmy award.

Most Guest Stars Featured in a TV Series[edit]

The Simpsons won this by the end of season 16, having 337 guest stars in 352 episodes. By the end of season 22, more than 500 people have guest starred on the show. Currently in season 26, almost 700 people have been a guest star on the show.

Most Searched-For TV Show on the Internet[edit]

According to Google, the most searched for TV show was The Simpsons between December 2001 and July 2003.

Tallest Stack of Donuts[edit]

The tallest stack of donuts (110.5cm) was made by 20th Century Fox and Capital Radio to celebrate the premier of The Simpsons Movie. This record was broken on 25 July, 2007.

Continuous Television Watching[edit]

The record for most television watching was broken on February 12, 2012 by fans Jeremiah Franco and Carin Shreve at The Simpsons Ultimate Fan Marathon Challenge. The record was previously 86 hours, 6 minutes and 41 seconds but the two fans managed to watch 86 hours and 37 minutes of episodes of The Simpsons.

Most People Contributing To a Single Work of Art[edit]

At the San Diego Comic-Con in 2014, an attraction called the Homer Dome was created. Inside was a paint-by-numbers mural that visitors could fill in to go towards the world record, which was broken before it was completed.[1]
