Down Home Doctorin' Time, with Dr. Julius Hibbert is a Simpsons Comics story in Simpsons Comics #74.

Synopsis[edit]

"Dr. Hibbert's life is followed in a TV series but the series is canceled after the network think it's just too dull."

Plot[edit]

Candice introduces the television show Down Home Doctorin' Time, with Dr. Julius Hibbert and the theme song plays. The episode then starts with Dr. Hibbert treating the squeaky-voiced teen for the issues with his face, and Dr. Hibbert gives him some ointment to use on it nine times a day. However, he can no longer eat meat products and must stay away from solid foods for the next decade. After treating his patient, Candice tells Dr. Hibbert to come quickly because someone is touching his novelty golf-ball-shaped coffee mug.

Dr. Hibbert then treats Bart, who had eaten a box of pop rocks while drinking soda. Dr. Hibbert was going to replace his stomach with a prosthetic stomach, but he was interrupted as the show had been cancelled by the network. Jim Hope tells Dr. Hibbert that the network decided there were too many reality TV shows, so they cut his show. Dr. Hibbert goes back home to Bernice and the kids, except the kids weren't actually his. Jim Hope then calls the Hibberts to tell Dr. Hibbert that another network picked up the show, but they have to make changes.

The new show is introduced by a hotter nurse called Candi and the new theme song plays. Dr. Hibbert and special guest doctor Howie Mandel go to treat Krusty while Mandel makes silly jokes. Guest nurse Nancy Kerrigan then asks Dr. Hibbert to leave his wife and run away with her, but he tells her that he's too much man for her. Ninjas then break through the windows to kill Dr. Hibbert. However, Jim Hope stops the show to tell him that the show has been cancelled again and they're changing the show to When Celebrities Drop Their Pants.
