Billion Dollar Butt-Ski is a The Simpsons Winter Wingding story first printed in The Simpsons Winter Wingding #6.
Synopsis[edit]
- Not wanting to buy a new sled for Bart and Lisa, Homer invents the Butt-Ski, which he believes can make him a billion dollars.
Plot[edit]
The Simpson family are rushing to the park so the kids can go sledding. As they drive past The Sports Shoppe, Bart sees the Ultra-Deluxe Lightweight Aluminum Super Sled, which he wants. However, Homer tells him that they borrowed the family sled from Grampa, so they will use it or die trying. After sledding down the hill, Bart and Lisa struggle to pull it back up again. Meanwhile, Kent Brockman is reporting on the kids of Springfield going sledding. When Marge mentions the kids dragging heavy sleds up the hill again, Homer comes up with a billion-dollar idea that will revolutionize wintertime play for kids. Homer's outburst gets caught on camera by Kent Brockman.
Homer and the family go to The Sports Shoppe, where Homer buys a flying disc and a jockstrap. The family goes home, where Homer starts working on his invention. He attaches the jockstrap to the flying disc to make the Butt-Ski. The intention behind it is for a kid to strap the disc on so they have a small sled on their butt and can slide down a hill and hike back up without lugging a heavy sled. Homer then tells Bart he wants him to test it for him. Homer takes Bart to a hill in the middle of the woods so they can't be seen while he tests the Butt-Ski. However, Bart doesn't like it, saying that it gives him a snow wedgie.
Late that night, Homer is at Moe's Tavern working on the plans for his Butt-Ski. When he gets worried that his friends will steal the idea from him, he leaves and starts walking home. However, he notices a mysterious person following him. Homer tries to lose the man but ends up falling in the snow. The man approaches Homer and reveals himself to be Bartholomew Blammo, the president of Blammo Toys. He tells Homer that he saw the news broadcast where Homer spoke about his idea and wanted to buy it off him for $100,000. Homer demands a billion dollars instead, which Bartholomew refuses.
Two days later, Homer is getting ready to send off his patent papers for the Butt-Ski. However, he notices many kids using Butt-Skis, which shocks him. Wondering who sold his idea, he sees Bart riding an Ultra-Deluxe Lightweight Aluminum Super Sled. He then chases after his son and strangles him on the sled.
