Bart's Day at the Zoo is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #2.
Plot[edit]
Bart goes with his school class to the zoo. On the bus trip, he finds out that he has lost his reputation as a bad boy and decides to prank at the zoo. Sherri and Terri challenge him to write his name inside an empty cage to prove he is a bad boy. Bart takes the challenge and climbs into the cage. When he reaches the top of the fence, he becomes stuck by his pants. They break and he falls into the cage. Because he has no underwear on, Bart has nothing covering the lower part of his body; he ties his shirt around his waist.
Bart realizes that he cannot get out of the cage and neither Sherri, Terri, Nelson, Comic Book Guy, Grampa or Jasper want to help him out. After a while Milhouse arrives and he helps Bart try to climb out, but when Bart reaches the top of the fence, his shirt breaks and he falls back in, leaving him completely naked and left in the cage. Principal Skinner finds Bart and starts to climb the cage to help him out but he also falls inside. Milhouse falls inside after another rescue attempt.
After some time, Martin arrives and Skinner asks him to find a zookeeper to get them out. Skinner is worried about what will happen if word gets out about the incident but Bart calms him down. Suddenly the Springfield Action News chopper flies over the cage and films everyone inside. Later on, after everyone is rescued, the evening news shows footage of inside the cage, including an enraged Skinner and stark naked Bart. Bart is happy that he proved that he is still is a bad boy.
