Synopsis[edit]

Matt "Tex" Groening takes the readers on a tour of Bongo Comics to learn how Simpsons Comics are created.

Plot[edit]

Matt "Tex" Groening introduces himself to the readers and tells them that he will take them on a tour inside Bongo Comics. He hands his horse, Diablo, to Grampa before he enters the building and greets the receptionist. Tex then tells the readers the history of Bongo Comics. At one time, Bongo was run out of his bedroom closet. Times were tough, but the work paid off when they produced the first issue of Simpsons Comics in 1957. Since then, Bongo Comics has come a long way and uses state-of-the-art technology such as the Plot-A-Tron 3000 now. Professor Frink demonstrates the Plot-A-Tron 3000 by having it generate a plot where Homer consumes tainted salmon and leaves Maggie at a shopping facility.

After the plot is generated, the writers work on turning it into full stories. After the stories are written, the artists draw the comic panels, including images of Matt Groening. Sometimes, real-life models are used by the artists as inspiration. After the panels are drawn, the inkers risk black lung disease to outline the images. The next step of the process involves endangered rainforest species being ground up to make dyes for the colors. After coloring, Cecil Terwilliger fills out all the speech bubbles, despite not knowing how to read. The final step of the process has the comic shown to editors Bill Morrison and Terry Delegeane, who reside in a maximum-security prison, for them to approve it. It is then given a Bongo stamp of approval.

After the tour, Tex tells the readers to join him next week to see what it's like inside a real live corporate takeover.
