'The Origin Of Glowy The Radioactive Dog is a comic story featured in Radioactive Man #1. The comic was later reprinted in 0Radioactive Man: Radioactive Repository Volume One.
Plot
Claude Kane III, Zenith City's playboy tries to dating Gloria Grand but she would not go out with him for he is just a frivolous socialite. His father Dr. Claude Kane II tell him that he should do something with his life but Claude tell him at it's to early, he left school for only five years ago. Claude is at a swanky nightclub and overhears two men talking about them should dispose Dr. Kane to get money from Dr. Crab. This causes Claude to remember that his father did not transfer his allowance this week so he drives to his lab to retrieve it. In the lab working meanwhile Dr. Kane with a test of his mega-bomb, monitored by Gloria for the news. Claude is on his way to the lab, but he make a wrong turn and after a few miles outside the city and his car tires stucks in the sand.
Meanwhile arrives the men from the club to the lab and binds Dr. Kane, his co-worker and Gloria, they start to countdown a detonate of the mega-bomb for taking the test data and devliver it to their comrades scientist. Claud need help with his car and goes to some building he seeing, Claude discovers that they are nobody in the buildings so he climbs up in a tower to see if he can see where he is. When he comes up to the tower, he discovers that the mega bomb is placed there, and he realizes he is in the test area and begin to flee from the area. He sees a bunker but get caught in their barbed wire, and can not escape, while the bomb exploding.
Claude comes out through a cloud of smoke and he is amazed how he could survive the atomic bomb, he sees that he looks different and he also feels little dizzy. Claude goes to his car and trying to push it out of the sand, but starts to lift it instead, he realizes at he has super powers and begins to fly to the lab, but make a bad landing and crashed into the criminals car. The criminals hear that someone is outside the lab and go out and meeting the first deisgn of Radioactive Man, they start to shoot him but the bullets studs and he strikes them down with his fist. Claude binds the guys and put on one of their hats on his heads to hide the flash as he got into his head.
Claude goes into the lab and remove the ropes, he was thinking to reveal what he had done but the criminal tell then that if they meet the man who beat them down again, they will kill him and all his friends and family so Claude decides to not tell what he had done, he tell them at someone else got the spys. Claude is back home and realizes that with his new powers, he might do something good with his life so his dad and Gloria wanted, but for protect them, he must take an alias, he decides to become Radioactive Man.
