Simon Cowell is an British music executive, television presenter, celebrity and entrepreneur, famous for his hit shows Pop Idol, American Idol, The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent. He has appeared in the Simpsons three times now. His first appearance was as a role of a brutally honest judge, much like he is on his talent shows, in the episode Smart and Smarter, in which he plays a grumpy nursery admissions officer. The second was in a short called Springfield's Got Talent. The third was in episode Judge Me Tender, when he appeared with fellow American Idol judges (Ryan Seacrest, and fellow judges Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kara DioGuardi).

Cowell has said he hated the experience, and said he only does it as "look good and stay young forever", as his character won't age when people watch it in the future. He also says he hated the experience as he struggled with his lines..
