Help:Contents

Protecting a page is an admin tool that stops users from editing a page. Pages can also be protected from being renamed as well in the same manner.

Levels of protection[edit]

Semi-protection[edit]

Semi-protection disallows anonymous users and brand new users from editing a page. This level of protection allows autoconfirmed users onwards to edit. This should be used in cases of repeated vandalism.

Full protection[edit]

Full protection disallows anyone other than administrators to edit a page. This should be used in the case of extreme vandalism only.

How to protect[edit]

On every page is a link to protect it. Existing and non-existing articles can be protected. You just select the level of protection and the expiry time, it can be infinite, and enter a reason then confirm.
