Song Information
Singers: Russi Taylor
Characters: Martin Prince, Jr.
Writer(s): Brent Forrester (lyrics)
Appearance(s): "Lemon of Troy"

Hark to the Tale of Nelson is a song sung by Martin Prince, Jr. about Nelson Muntz, after Nelson rescued Martin from being beat up by a Shelbyville boy. As Martin sang, he literally skipped circles around Nelson. Nelson, for his part, studiously ignored Martin, except for trying to hit him halfway through the song.

Lyrics

Hark to the tale of Nelson,
And the boy he loved so dear.
They remained the best of friends,
For years and years and years.

Behind the Laughter

  • The song is sung to the tune of the theme from the Western TV series The Rifleman, which aired from 1958 to 1963.
