Evergreen Terrace is the street that the Simpsons and many other major recurirng characters live on. It is unclear why it is called "terrace", when the houses are infact detached. Although in early episodes it frequently changed, the Simpsons usually are mentioned as residing at number 742. Therefore, the Flanders live next door at number 744. Evergreen Terrace has its own exit off the highway, as is shown in the episode "Marge Simpson In Screaming Yellow Honkers".However in Season 17 Episode 20 it is shown that the Simpsons live at 740 and the Flanders live at 738.

The non recurring charecter residents seem to hate the Simpsons with a passion. Moving away themselves when they heard the Simpsons were not being forced to move.

• Rod, Todd, Maude and Ned Flanders
• Sylvia Winfield and Mr. Winfield (untill the episode New Kid on the Block)
• Laura Powers and Ruth Powers (since the episode New Kid on the Block)
• Reverend Timothy Lovejoy (according to the episode Homer's Triple Bypass)
• Ex president George H.W. Bush (just on the episode Two Bad Neighbors)
• Ex president Gerald Ford (since the episode Two Bad Neighbors)
