Plot
One day, Marge longed to have a life outside of the walls of her house. Later that day, she read a romance novel on the couch when she heard laughter outside. She looked out the window to see Luann Van Houten talking to Ruth Powers about the ladies book club. Marge then sees Martha Quimby with them and thinks about how nice it would be for them to ask her to join the book club.
One day when shopping at Bookaccino's when Ruth sees her and talks to her about the books. Ruth is surprised because she thought that Marge would be the kind of person to read self-help books rather than romance novels. Ruth then invites Marge to join the book club, which Marge says that she would love to do.
The following Tuesday Marge gets ready to go to the book club meeting by preparing pigs in blankets to give to the other women. However, when Marge arrives at the book club, she also finds several men there and sees Mrs. Krabappel making out with Professor Lombardo and realizes that it's not a book club, it's a swinging housewives club when Moe tells her he's only there for the booze and broads.
Marge tells everyone that they should be ashamed of themselves, but Ruth shrugs her off. Marge tells her that she's happily married and tries to leave only to be stopped by the Sea Captain. She then asks Mrs. Krabappel why she isn't in school, and she says the students are on an unsupervised field trip to the scissors factory. Marge then left the swingers club and went back home where she confessed to Homer what happened. After telling Homer everything, Homer asks if there's any pigs in blankets left.
