Shadow Apocalypse of the Sciencester is a Simpsons Super Spectacular comic story first printed in Simpsons Super Spectacular #4.

Synopsis

"Martin is tired of Bartman and decides to become a superhero who could step in his place, but Bartman is always one step ahead."

Plot

The Sciencester, who is Martin Prince in costume, talks to Principal Skinner and Groundskeeper Willie and tells them that he wants to capture Bartman, although the adults don't believe that Bartman is real. The Sciencester convinces them to allow him to use the school lab, and get a sidekick in the form of Wendell Borton/Kid Queasy. The Sciencester and Kid Queasy begin looking for a plan to capture Bartman and The Sciencester tries to get inspiration from Infinite Annihilation of the Heroes. After reading the comic, The Sciencester decides that they have to erase Bartman's memory of being Bartman so that he becomes a normal person. The Sciencester and Kid Queasy then looks through the school lab for amnesia stones, which they can't find. Kid Queasy then suggests trapping Bartman in a giant baking soda volcano.

The Sciencester tells Bartman to meet him at the school bus garage at midnight. Houseboy is worried that it'll be a trap, but Bartman isn't worried as he never gets trapped, he's the one who sets the traps. Midnight comes around and Bartman gets captured on the side of the volcano. The Sciencester plans to make the volcano overflow and coat Bartman in red food coloring so he'll have to stay at home the next day. Then they'll know who Bartman is because he'll be absent from school. Principal Skinner suggests just unmasking him whilst he's on the volcano though, which Willie does. When they unmask Bartman, they find that he is Martin. Bart then slips off The Sciencester mask and leaves the garage, causing the volcano to overflow. As Martin is getting the red food coloring cleaned off by Skinner and Willie, Bartman tells Houseboy about how he swapped places with Martin.
