"This is Jebediah Springfield at the Battle of Ticonderoga. Next. And here he is killing a snake on the very first Whacking Day in 1775."
Tour guide at Olde Springfield Towne
"Hey, wait a minute. That was the same day he was at Ticonderoga. How could he be in two places at once?"

Event Information
When did it happen: 1775
First Appearance: "Whacking Day"

The Battle of Ticonderoga occurred during the American Revolutionary War on May 10, 1775 in Ticonderoga, New York.

History

Bart was briefly expelled from Springfield Elementary and homeschooled by Marge. Bart took an interest in the book Johnny Tremain set during the Amercan Revolution so Marge suggested they take a field trip to Olde Springfield Towne. The guide explained during a slideshow how Jebediah Springfield led a charge in the Battle of Ticonderoga, but he is also credited with whacking a snake on the first "Whacking Day" in 1775. Bart noticed a discrepancy and asked how Jebediah Springfield could be whacking a snake in Springfield on the first Whacking Day and also at the Battle of Ticonderoga as both would have been on the same day: May 10th, 1775.
