Mel Gibson is an American actor and producer.

Mel Gibson starred in a remake of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, which had a test screening at the Aztec Theater in Springfield. Mel flew out to Springfield to see how the audience reacted to it. Mel had reservations about the film and wasn't satisfied with it. However, most of the people who watched the film loved it, except Homer Simpson. As Mel and the movie executives were flying back to Hollywood, Mel read through the feedback cards until he found one that didn't like the film. He then got John Travolta to turn the plane around so he could go and see Homer.

At the Simpson house, Mel asked Homer to help him fix his film. Mel then flew the entire Simpson family out to Hollywood so he and Homer could work on it. Homer gave various suggestions for the film, but Mel turned them all down. Homer then revealed that the ending was his least favorite part, as it's so boring. Mel agreed and they decided to rework the ending together...
