Comic Story information
|
Manners with Milhouse is a Simpsons Comics story that appears in Bart Simpson's Pal, Milhouse Comics #1.
Synopsis
Milhouse explains the finer points of telephone etiquette while Bart plays a prank call on Moe.
Plot
Milhouse begins his telephone etiquette lesson by telling people to be polite, give their name, and be friendly while using the telephone. Bart, on the phone, says his name is Stuart Pidme, and that the person he is telephoning can call him "Stu". Moe, who is on the other end of the call, asks how he can help Stu.
Milhouse continues the manners lesson by saying, "Always be clear and concise." Bart tells Moe that he's looking for a Miss Suring, whose first name is Ann. Moe calls out to the bar customers, "Got a phone call here. Stu Pidme for Ann Suring. Anyone know Stu Pidme?" Barney replies, "I know you, Moe!" and laughs. On the phone, Bart also laughs, and Moe gets angry as he realizes he's been pranked.
Milhouse now says, "If you've misdialed, apologize." Bart says on the phone, "I'm sorry. This must be the wrong number." Moe, who has now calmed down, affably replies, "Aw, that's okay, kid. That was the nicest crank call I ever had."
Now concluding his lesson, Milhouse says, "Manners do matter!"
