Apu is bought at a bachelor auction for almost $900 which inspires him to enjoy his bachelor life. It all comes to a halt when Apu recieves a message from his mother in India signaling that it is time for his arranged marriage. Apu decides to lie by telling his mother that he is already married. His mother then makes a surprise twist to see him and the woman he claims to be married to. Homer has Marge pretend to be Apu's wife while he hides out at the retirement home. After a short while, Homer returns home and Apu's mother catches him in bed with Marge blowing Apu's cover. Apu confesses that he does not want to be married but is forced to go through with the arrange marriage anyway. The ceremony is held in the Simpsons back yard. Homer tries to stop the wedding by disguising himself as the Indian god Ganesh which angers some of the guests at the ceremony. Apu meets his bride Manjula and the two catch up on old times.
