Patrick McGoohan (March 19, 1928 – January 13, 2009) was an Irish-American actor.

McGoohan had an extensive career in stage and film, and was most famous for his 1960s television roles: Agent John Drake in Danger Man (re-titled Secret Agent in the USA) and Number Six in The Prisoner. He also appeared in a number of movies, his more famous roles including Dr. Paul Ruth in Scanners and King Edward I ("Longshanks") in Braveheart.

On The Simpsons, McGoohan appeared as Number 6 in the episode "The Computer Wore Menace Shoes", reprising his character from The Prisoner.

McGoohan died following a brief illness in 2009, aged 80.
