Graveyard Shift is a Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror story first printed in The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror #21.
Synopsis
- "Apu accidentally receives a shipment of adorable gremlins intended for the sorcery shop a few doors down the block; unfortunately, he doesn't read the warning that tells him not to feed them Squishees after midnight."
Plot
Apu is working the nightshift at the Kwik-E-Mart when he receives a package intended for the Spook-E-Mart down the street. The package contains cute, little Gizmo-like creatures (which also resemble Bart). Apu keeps them preoccupied with Squishees while he gets on with work, however he fails to notice a sign on the package warning not to feed them Squishees after midnight. Later Apu is shocked to discover the Gizmo-like creatures have mutated into Gremlin-like creatures. Apu battles the creatures until he eventually lures them into the Squishee machine where they are mashed up by the gears inside. After fetching a mop Apu discovers Homer drinking from the machine, Homer then mutates into a Godzilla-like creature.
