Viva Bart is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #65.

Plot[edit]

Homer buys the last crate of Duff Beer at the Kwik-E-Mart, breaking a promise to Barney that they would share each half. One of the bottle caps wins him and the family a trip to the Caribbean island Bosqueverde. On the flight, Lisa reads about how the country is a dictatorship engaged in civil war. Upon arrival, the family are greeted by President Hidalgo who invites them to stay at his house. While exploring, Lisa encounters a rebellion army who she offers to help by persuading Bart to perform a number of pranks on Hidalgo. Bart's pranks include hoax calls, graffiti and defacing statues. Having read about the mishaps in the newspaper, Principal Skinner informs Hidalgo that Bart is responsible. The military is ordered to kill the Simpson family and gives chase. The family encounters Ranier Wolfcastle, where they inadvertently perform the role of American hostages for the latest McBain film, after which they are able to return home. At Moe's, Barney laughs maniacally, hinting that he placed a curse on Homer for stealing his Duff.
