Danny Elfman is an American composer. He composed "The Simpsons Theme". Outside of The Simpsons, Elfman is best known for his movie scoring partnership with acclaimed director Tim Burton.
Recordings
Elfman's main and continued connection to the show has been his work on the Main Title, of which he originally recorded back in 1989, as well as a few unspecific cues for the shows library, which were sparingly used in the first two seasons. He also returned to the show to rerecord and rearranged the song for the updated opening for Season 2. Since then, Elfman has not worked on another Simpsons recording session, with his new version of the Main Title being replaced with a new orchestration by Alf Clausen, which is the current recording of the tune.[1]
