"World War III" is the sixteenth short. It aired on The Tracey Ullman Show on November 22, 1987.
Synopsis[edit]
Homer wakes Bart, Marge, Lisa, and Maggie in the middle of the night to practice for a nuclear war drill. The Simpsons make it to the basement but are late and go down in 18 seconds. Homer then replies that if that was a real nuclear war The Simpsons would be dead meat. Homer then wakes up the family again and they are still unsuccessful in timing. Bart then wakes Homer up for a nuclear war drill and him, Marge, Lisa, and Maggie trap Homer in the basement and decide to let him out in the morning.
