Mr. Burns realizes he was lucky to be revived and understands that the world will go on without him. While Homer talks to Lenny and Carl, SLH escapes, so Homer starts chasing him. He finds "Big Monty" and decides to test it. As he starts the computer, Big Monty starts with his work. Lisa is going through her e-mail when she starts chatting with a guy who calls himself Monty. Lisa thinks he is funny, because he speaks in an old-fashioned way and doesn't know anything about the present. While Lisa chats with Monty during school break, she says that she is irritated at her brother and wishes he went to another school.

Seymour Skinner then gets a call from Swellingon School for Privileged Boys and finds out that Bart received a full scholarship to the school, and sends Bart there. When Lisa finds out she feels bad, because Bart will now have the education that she could only dream of. Monty then asks if she would like to change schools but she says she does not, because it would ruin Springfield's state funding. Lisa will also get a new teacher because Ms. Hoover is on a paid sabbatical to St. Croix, and the new teacher is J. K. Rowling. Lisa feels very happy now. Bart, however, is not happy with his new school, but after he finds out that most of the kids are stupid and are only there because they have rich parents, he begins to like the school.

After school, Lisa chats again with Monty, and tells him how unhappy she is with her family: they are poor, her dad drinks too much and the family eats meat. They get a check for a million dollars, Moe gets money to sell his bar and the animals are freed from slaughterhouses. Superintendent Chalmers wonders how the school got better so quickly, so Skinner tells him that they received money from an anonymous benefactor. Lisa writes in her diary that she still is happy: everything is as it was before, but she misses Monty. Moe moves back, Rowling quits teaching, Homer owes a million dollars and Bart is sent home. We then see Smithers at home, sitting at his computer and talking with Monty—he has a copy of the program at home.
