The Simpson Project is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #50.

Plot[edit]

Milhouse and Bart are spitting on cars when they get bored. They decide to go to the dump, where they take some scrap metal. They take the scrap metal to the Simpson house and they start to build a space rocket. Marge wants them to stop, but Lisa gets her to let the boys build their rocket.

Professor Frink comes along and starts to help with the rocket, as does Barney. A TV crew passes by and interviews Professor Frink, who tells the crew that they may be able to go to Mars.

When NASA finds out that they have built a rocket to Mars and that Springfield has access to nuclear power, they call Mr. Burns to get him to stop the project, but he starts to help the Simpson instead. NASA believes that the plant is included in the plans to go to Mars. They call the Pentagon, and they hope that there are no foreign terrorists behind the project. They call the CIA and find out that they already know about the project but after they hang up, they set up all resources to the project. A Russian spy hears about it and tells his boss that there is a secret military launching pad in Springfield.

President Obama hears the news and says that he is tired of all the misery. Marge and Lisa discover that Springfield has been invaded by various authorities and media. When NASA gets there, they discover that the spaceship is not capable of flying. The others also hear this and leave. Homer wants a word with Bart but the family discovers that Bart has disappeared. It turns out that Bart and Milhouse have gone to spit on cars.
