History[edit]
The film was being filmed in Springfield, and Mary Tannenbaum was assigned to help get the production back on track after several problems arose. Mary arrived at the set and began organizing everything. Meanwhile, Lisa followed her around to film a behind-the-scenes documentary of the movie. Within a short time, Mary had the film back on track. As she was leaving, her boss called and asked her to stay on the film until it was completed.
Filming got delayed again when they ran out of fake snow. Homer was hired to make fake snow for the set, which he did by grinding up white materials, including asbestos. Another issue arose when the Christmas tree meant for the film was stolen by beavers. Mary decided to use the Lettuce and Tomato Festival as a backdrop for the Christmas festival scenes, and the crew decorated the festival to make it look Christmas-themed.
On the set, Bart turned the snow generator up to maximum, covering the entire set in too much fake snow, which halted filming until the crew could clean it up. The next day, Bart showed the townspeople what Mary had said about them, calling them negative things. This caused the townspeople to quit being extras in the film. Eventually, footage of Mary having a heart-to-heart conversation with Marge, where Mary expressed how upset she was about losing the town's respect, was shown to everyone. This motivated the people of Springfield to come together to fix the set and finish the film.
Later, the Simpson family watched the completed film, although only Marge enjoyed it.
Plot[edit]
In the film, Sondra's family owns a Christmas megastore, while Jeff's family owns a mom-and-pop ornament store. This puts them at odds with each other as Sondra's store could put Jeff's store out of business. However, the two share a moment at Christmas Creek, which causes Sondra to care about Jeff.
At the end of the film, Sondra and Jeff exchange gifts. Sondra opens her gift to reveal a Christmas bauble with "Will you marry me?" written on it, while Jeff opens his gift to reveal a Christmas bauble with "Yes" written on it. The two then kiss each other.
