Back home, Marge asks Homer to fix the vacuum cleaner while Nelson, Bart and Milhouse begin to help Willie with his chores. Homer has fixed the vacuum cleaner and when he starts it, it sucks up all the dirt in the house at once. Homer and Marge get a visit from Gil, who wants to sell a vacuum cleaners to the family. Willie becomes the school's best substitute teacher for several years, and he begins to teach all subjects and the students love him. Homer and Gil continue to sell the vacuum cleaners, and they visit Dr. Nick when Gil passes out again. Dr. Nick realizes that Gil is allergic to success as Homer starts selling the vacuum cleaner by himself and keeps all the money.
Homer gets a visit from Professor Frink, who tells him that the vacuum cleaners have sucked up all the pollen. However, Homer does not care because they have become rich. Lisa decides to pick up Willie, who tells him why they need pollen. So Homer changes his mind, and Willie decides to quit teaching and go back to his old job as groundskeeper because he does not like children and is tired of teaching them, and he also misses the cleaning.
