Info
The only son of the Simpsons Family, and the first-born. While Bart primarily serves the role of the troublemaker in the family, he is basically a decent kid. For example, when he is caught shoplifting from Try 'N Save (a local store) in the episode Marge Be Not Proud, Bart makes amends to his disappointed mother by giving Marge a portrait of himself.
"Bart" is an intentional anagram of "brat," as well as an homage to creator Matt Groening's brother Mark, whom he has stated was the real inspiration for Bart.
