Cornelius Chapman was Springfield's oldest resident at 108 years old. He was bestowed with a Springfield Pride Award commemorating such. He unfortunately never got to make an acceptance speech, suffering an untimely death at the awards show.

Biography

Chapman, standing in front of the first log cabin in Springfield

Chapman built the first log cabin in Springfield (although other sources state that Jebediah Springfield did this). He introduced the toothbrush to the citizens of Springfield and, for years, was their sole pro basketball player. During the market crash of 1929, he helped people jump out tall buildings to avoid disgrace and he once took a bullet (one of several fired) for Huey Long.

Death

At the Springfield Pride Awards, which were co-hosted by Kent Brockman and Britney Spears, while accepting his award, Chapman recieved a kiss from Spears, which caused him to suffer a heart attack, leading to instant death.

After this incident, Brockman bestowed the award to Springfield's next oldest living resident, Mr. Burns.
