David Byrne (born May 14, 1952) is a Scottish-born musician and record producer who moved to Canada and then to the United States in his childhood. He has received Grammy, Oscar, and Golden Globe awards and been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was a founding member of the American band Talking Heads for which he is most associated with. His appearance on the Simpsons was as himself looking around Springfield for some songs to produce when he walked into Moe's Tavern to find Homer and the song, Everybody Hates Ned Flanders, which he produced and became an instant hit.
