Rodney Stephen "Rod" Steiger (April 14, 1925 – July 9, 2002) was an American actor, best known for his roles in On the Waterfront, The Harder They Fall, The Pawnbroker, Doctor Zhivago, In the Heat of the Night, Waterloo, and Mars Attacks!. He voiced Captain Tenille in the season 9 episode "Simpson Tide".
