Treasured Artists Publishing published Bleeding Gums Murphy's music, giving him only 92 cents for doing so. Years later, they sold the rights to the music to Nike, Lay's potato chips, Turkish oligarchs and Evil Corp.
When Lisa and Monk Murphy went to find how Bleeding Gums' music was used in a commercial for the Springfield Lottery, they went to Treasured Artists Publishing in the Springfield Brill Building. When they found out that the rights had been sold, Monk gave up trying to search for answers.
