Bart Fink and the Mighty Mississip is a Bart Simpson story first printed in Bart Simpson #12.

Plot[edit]

Springfield holds a "Mark Twain Days" festival, which includes a play written by Lisa, directed by and starring Bart. Unbeknownst to Lisa, Bart has heavily rewritten the script.

Bart Fink learns from Huck Finn (Milhouse) that Injun Apu wants the gold he is owed. Huck sees Tom Sawyer (Nelson) threatening two frogs (Rod and Todd) into letting his frog win the Calaveras County Frog Race. Bart steals a gold statue from a tomb and escapes from a mecha built out of corn pone. Huck informs Tom that Injun Apu has kidnapped Becky Thatcher (Martin). They reach Apu's hideout to rescue Becky, and duel with lightsabers. Bart sails to the hideout in a speedboat, which gets attacked by genetically engineered piranhas. As Huck and Tom are about to beat Apu, he unleashes giant space worms on them. Bart crashes his speedboat into the hideout.

At multiple points during the performance, Lisa interrupts to comment on the absurd inaccuracies of Bart's retelling. The stage eventually collapses due to the level of action. Although Lisa is furious at Bart's interference, the rest of the town finds the performance to be highly entertaining.
