S.N.U.H..png

The Springfieldians for Nonviolence, Understanding, and Helping, abbreviated to S.N.U.H., is a group founded by Marge Simpson.

History

Marge Simpson created the group after Homer was hit on the head by Maggie Simpson. Marge blamed the incident on the violent content in The Itchy & Scratchy Show, and started a campaign to curb violence on television. A traveling exhibition of Michelangelo's sculpture David schedules a stop in Springfield. Other SNUH members urge Marge to protest the exhibition due to its nudity, but Marge considers David a masterpiece. She realizes that SNUH protests have done more harm than good. SNUH quickly disbands.[1]

Trivia

The word "SNUH" is later mentioned as a sound effect in a clip from a 70s Radioactive Man television series.[2]

When Marge tries to make Homer promise not to buy Lisa a pony, "Snuh" is one of the nonsensical words uttered by Homer instead of making an actual reply.[3]
