The framing story should be canon, and thus the episode should be as well. (Marge reading to the kids, and Bowdlerizing one of the stories) The stories themselves should be non-canon, as they involve things like characters getting killed off and eaten and they really come off like the THOH stories. -- [[User:Mythigator|Mythigator]] ([[User talk:Mythigator|talk]]) 21:57, September 24, 2021 (EDT)

:Going to just respond to the first one, since this goes for all the anthology episodes with a framing device - The framing device should be canon. The stories are usually being told by the characters, so they will be fictional rather than non-canon. Canon discussions

Use this section to discuss why you consider an episode to be canon or not. If it's decided to be non-canon, it will be added to the list. The Solar Dragon 07:13, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Uncut Femmes

I feel this episode should be considered non-canon as it changes Sarah Wiggum's story and how she met Clancy Wiggum, as heard in the season 14 episode "A Star Is Born Again". The Solar Dragon 07:13, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Do PizzaBots Dream of Electric Guitars?

I feel that this episode can be considered canon still as whilst it changes up Homer's teenage story, I don't think it directly contradicts anything else stated, other than the floating timeline changing the year Homer was a teenager in. The Solar Dragon 07:13, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

The Principal and the Pauper

Skinner's backstory is changed, which is contradicted in multiple future episodes, including "Boy Meets Curl" where Agnes is seen pregnant with someone who is clearly the Skinner we know. Although, it has been mentioned once later... The Solar Dragon 07:31, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

I, (Annoyed Grunt)-bot

We go through multiple Snowballs, only to have one that looks identical to Snowball II and is only referred to as Snowball II in future. Plus, Skinner's referred to as "Armin Tamzarian" in this. The Solar Dragon 07:31, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Donnie Fatso

Another one that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, Fat Tony dies and is replaced by his cousin, Fit Tony, who then becomes Fat Tony. However, Michael still seems to be his son. The Solar Dragon 07:31, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Replaceable You

Mrs. Glick gets killed this episode. However, she is seen alive and well in multiple future episodes. The Solar Dragon 07:31, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Gump Roast

According to our current list of non-canon episodes, "Gump Roast" is classed as non-canon. However, I don't see why it should be. Kang and Kodos, and aliens, have made appearances in other canon episodes too. So I feel this could be canon. The Solar Dragon 10:05, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Brick Like Me

Another on the non-canon list, but most of the episode, the Lego part, is a dream. So this feels like it should be canon. The Solar Dragon 10:05, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Every Man's Dream

The episode is all dreams within dreams, which is then revealed to be a story behind a tattoo on Hannah Horvath's back. The Solar Dragon 15:25, September 4, 2021 (EDT)

Tales from the Public Domain

The framing story should be canon, and thus the episode should be as well. (Marge reading to the kids, and Bowdlerizing one of the stories) The stories themselves should be non-canon, as they involve things like characters getting killed off and eaten and they really come off like the THOH stories. -- Mythigator (talk) 21:57, September 24, 2021 (EDT)

Going to just respond to the first one, since this goes for all the anthology episodes with a framing device - The framing device should be canon. The stories are usually being told by the characters, so they will be fictional rather than non-canon. They're canon stories, but they're just stories. The Solar Dragon 12:42, September 26, 2021 (EDT)

Simpsons Tall Tales

Framing story: canon, thus making the episode canon. "Tales": non-canon. Same reasoning as "Tales from the Public Domain", except that this episode doesn't have the THOH-style violence and mayhem. Thus, the family's hopping a train whilst on a trip is canon as it's part of the framing story, but "Homer as Paul Bunyan" is not. -- Mythigator (talk) 21:57, September 24, 2021 (EDT)

Revenge is a Dish Best Served Three Times

Framing story (and thus the episode) canon, individual stories non-canon. Same reasoning as "Simpsons Tall Tales". Thus, Homer's being prone to road rage is canon (and at any rate entirely consistent with his character), but Milhouse's power glove and revenge campaign against the bullies are not. -- Mythigator (talk) 21:57, September 24, 2021 (EDT)

Four Great Women and a Manicure

Framing story (and episode) canon, individual stories non-canon, similar reasoning to "Simpsons Tall Tales". So the trip to the nail salon is canon, but Lisa's being cast as Snow White (for example) is not. -- Mythigator (talk) 10:04, September 26, 2021 (EDT)
