Wikisimpsons:Vote to move

Wikisimpsons - The Simpsons Wiki

This is the official vote to move. The discussion is here. It is recommended that you read the whole discussion before voting as it will give you a better idea for what you're voting for.

The vote is a simple yes or no vote. No neutral votes as that will complicate things. This is an important decision to make and should not be made lightly.

If the decision passes, a notice will be left on the wiki for a couple of weeks to say that we have moved. If the decision to move doesn't go through, nothing will change.

All users are welcome to vote, whether you are a frequent editor or just a reader. This will be a big change and should not be taken lightly.

You do not have to explain your vote, that was done in the discussion topic. Just sign under the heading.

The vote will be open for at least a week. I will try and hold it open until every active contributor has voted. However, it will close after two weeks if that doesn't happen.

If the vote doesn't go your way, we hope you choose to stick with the wiki regardless of the outcome. Every contributor helps.

  4. Now, I support the move. After considering everyone's reason to move, I think the wiki should be independent. — TheHomer (TalkContributions) 17:06, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
  5. I support the move...never liked shoutwiki.--Mitchell.friedman 03:41, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

  9. I don't think it's best to move now, in the long run, I do support independency. TheUnderfaker 21:35, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

#I change my mind. MAKE THE GODDAMN MOVE!!. I am completely fed up of this. Autopedia has been down for almost 60 DAYS!!. I'll consider moving back to Wikia if Autopedia recovers maybe in a YEAR. --'SilverKnight 08:58, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Oppose the Move (4)[edit]

  1. For the following reasons: being part of a wikifarm with shared logins encourages more users, and thus more content -- rather than a wiki in solitude; ShoutWiki will learn from their recent mistake, and implement more safety measures; the argument concerning search results is invalid -- Wikia will always be larger than one individual wiki, and thus search results for it will be shown above a independent wiki; I feel this vote for independence has been driven by the frustration felt when the website was down, and therefore is just the spark of the moment for the majority of people; I feel that people are simply agreeing with Solar Dragon for the sake of being Little Sir Echoes. --George 10:43, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
  2. Per George, and I assume that you don't want to divide your community yet again... Ajraddatz (Talk) 14:16, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
  3. Per my comment on the talk --Hockeyben 21:04, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
  4. hm. Actually, I shall go per above (though not escyos', I don't really get his vote) ----- cjc 14:56, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

#Stay with these bitches then! Escyos 05:18, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Neutral[edit]

  1. I'm completely undecided on this. Other than the crash, Shoutwiki has been a great host and I've found the staff to be quite helpful. We also moved here within the last year. On the other hand, becoming independent does have its benefits too. Whatever the community decides, I'll go with it. -- Brian McClure 14:34, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
  2. No strong feelings either way, or at least, not enough to definitively put me in favor of or in opposition to moving. I won't be mortally offended either by staying with Shoutwiki or with going independent. -- Mythigator 01:12, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Discussion[edit]

@User:Silver Knight -- Surely Autopedia's status is irreverent to this vote. --George 15:14, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Its an example of why you should move. Poor service. --'SilverKnight 15:21, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

At the moment, it looks like I am going to be giving a green light for the move. I will make a final decision on Monday. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 20:36, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
