Treehouse of Horror XII[edit]

I saw your comment that the article for Treehouse of Horror XII had way too many quotes. You were right, and here's why it was that way: When I first started working on the article, it had been completely copied and pasted from Wikipedia, which is a no-no around here. (It's happened before, and cleaning up after "wikidumps" could easily be a full-time project.) So I gave the article a complete rewrite, with the aim of making it resemble the Wikipedia article as little as possible, and it admittedly ended up on the wordy side. The number of quotes definitely did not help the cause! The trimmings you did were all good ones, and the article is in better shape now, but I did put a quote or two back, in spots where the article flows better with a quote than without. So anyway, thank you for taking an interest in the article. I figure after the work you've put into it, you more than deserve an explanation for the state it was in when you first encountered it. -- Mythigator 20:23, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

  • Ah, it alright. There's no need for an explanation. The article was great to start with anyway. And I know how tiring wikidumps are when it comes to cleaning them up. What I try to do is to rephrase most of the sentences, add a few details here, remove a few details here. It takes a while but if know the episode really well and are good with synonyms, next thing you know it turns out to be a fresh, new article. Kit Krap 20:48, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
