The Rise and Fall of Krustyland, Part Two is a Krusty Comics story first printed in Krusty Comics #2. It is the second part in The Rise and Fall of Krustyland series.
Synopsis[edit]
- Krusty prepares for the grand opening of Krustyland, despite the park still not being ready, and the threat of the Springfield Mafia wanting their money back takes over his dreams. Meanwhile, Bart, having failed to get tickets to the grand opening, tries to think up a way to get his family into the park without letting them know.
Krusty is asleep in the Leaning Tower of Krusty, where he dreams about the grand opening of Krustyland. In his dream, the grand opening is a success, and Rabbi Krustofsky is proud of him. However, his father transforms into Fat Tony, who threatens to kill him if he doesn't come up with the money he owes the mafia. Krusty wakes up from his dream to find several monkeys in his office, which Lionel Hutz tells him are the Mr. Teeny mascots. Krusty asks what he did to deserve this, then remembers forcing Ned Flanders to sign over Trustyland to him. Meanwhile, at the Simpson house, Homer is excited to be going to Krustyland, as he assumes that Bart has tickets due to helping Krusty create the rides and attractions for the park. Bart never received tickets from Krusty but doesn't want to tell the family this, despite Lisa realizing the truth.
Back at Krustyland, Fat Tony comes to Krusty's office and asks Krusty about the celebrity guests who will be attending the grand opening. After Fat Tony leaves, Krusty panics and tells Lionel Hutz to get some guests for the opening. Krusty then goes to collect a shipment of Rancid Green Pork Products to use as food for the guests. After the food is accidentally unloaded into the nuclear waste that Mr. Burns dumped in the park, Krusty says to just clean it off and serve it anyway. After seeing some of the rides and attractions, Krusty decides to whip the park into shape. He has Llewellyn Sinclair work on a show for the grand opening and prepares the rides. Lionel Hutz then informs him that nobody bought tickets to the grand opening. Krusty decides to make entry free but to charge extortionate prices at the concession stands.
The day of the grand opening arrives, and people flock to Krustyland due to the free entry. The Simpsons don't know about this, so Bart is still thinking up ways to get the family into the park. Soon, the park is open and is full of guests. Hutz then introduces the celebrity guests to Krusty, who consist of Rod E. McDowall, "Earnest" Borgnine, and Shel E. Winters of the Shelbyville Thespian Society. When Llewellyn comes to Krusty with a complaint about his character, Krusty snaps at him, and Llewellyn quits, leaving behind his pork chop costume. Meanwhile, the Simpsons arrive at the park, and Bart goes off to figure out how to get the family in. The rest of the family walk into the park due to the free entry. Bart sees the pork chop costume and puts it on to sneak in. However, Bart gets caught on the helicopter that was supposed to lift Llewellyn to the platform to start the acrobatics show. Bart goes through the entire show routine while the mafia tell Krusty that it's time to pay up.
