Cultural references

• The title is a reference to the 1960 film Ocean's 11, which was remade in 2001. Other references to the film include:
  • The plot of Deuces Wild, featuring the robbery of a string of Vegas casinos.
  • Gino Crocetti is a parody of Dean Martin, who starred in the original film.
    • Martin's birth name was Dino Paul Crocetti.
    • Martin was a singer as well as actor and was known to be a womanizer and drunk, as is Crocetti.
    • Martin commonly said "pally" on stage and on screen. "Clyde" was also a "Rat Pack" word, which Sinatra defined as "a catch-all noun".
    • When Crocetti quit, his female acquaintance wheels out a trolley of alcohol. When on stage together, Sinatra and Martin would often have a similar trolley, and would drink and mess around while the other sang.
  • Krusty not having a starring part in the film may be a reference to Joey Bishop, who, out of the five "Rat Pack" members, had the smallest role in the film, and is largely the most forgotten member of the group. Bishop was also a comedian.
• The Krusty the Clown Show sketch is a reference to the murder of Lee Harvey Oswald, killer of President John F. Kennedy, with Rainer Wolfcastle taking the role of his killer Jack Ruby (using a pie instead of a gun).
• Rainier Wolfcastle is starring in "yet another version of Anna and the King of Siam."
• Comic Book Guy plans to marry Jennifer Love Hewitt.
• Krusty mentions producing the soundtrack, available on Capitol Records, when he lists what he'll do to get the film made.
  • Dean Martin was signed to Capitol at the time, as was fellow Rat Pack cohort Frank Sinatra. When Frank set up his own record label, Reprise Records, Dean left Capitol Records.
    • Matt Groening's credit is for "Chairman of the Board", which was one of Sinatra's nicknames after he started Reprise.
