Book Information
Genre: Reference
First appearance: Homer vs. the Wallpaper

Great Big Book of Chinese Swearing is a book of Chinese swear words. Homer consulted it while he was trying to hang wallpaper.

History[edit]

During Homer's third unsuccessful attempt to hang wallpaper in Maggie's room, he started cursing up a storm when the sheets of wallpaper he was trying to put up fell right back down on him. As his tirade became more and more profanity-laden, Bart told Homer he was running out of curse words. He then told Homer to switch to Chinese, and handed him Great Big Book of Chinese Swearing.

Bart's reaction to Homer's wallpaper-hanging attempt.
Homer looked in the book and switched to swearing in Chinese as he went berserk and started nailing the wallpaper to the wall. Soon after that, Homer collapsed in exhaustion. Bart looked around the room at the sight of wallpaper and glue smeared everywhere and said "Holy-" followed by a curse word in Chinese.

Trivia[edit]

  • When Homer swears in Chinese, one possible English translation of his words is "Damn you! You should be dead!"
  • Bart's swearing in Chinese can be rendered into English as "dog shit".
