Cape Canaveral Base is an air force station in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
History[edit]
Homer and Barney came here to train to become astronauts. Whilst they were training here, the Simpson family lived on-site in a house.[1]
During a family road trip, a father became frustrated with his children repeatedly fighting in the back seat. He warned them that if they could not keep their hands to themselves, he would turn the car around and there would be no Cape Canaveral for anybody. The children immediately quieted down. Moments later, Nelson, reached through the open window and slapped the father on the head. The father reacted angrily, shouting that they were going back to Winnipeg, and turned the car around.[2]
Footage from the IMAX movie played at Cape Canaveral was shown at the Springfield Air and Space Museum's exhibit on aviation museum audiovisual materials.[3]
