The Simpson Family is one of the main families in Springfield. The first known Simpson was Sven. Many families have married in to the Simpson family and the Simpsons have in turn married into many. Through marragies such as this, it is possible to trace a link between one of the states richest and well-known family, the Burns'.

The first known Simpson was Sven. He married Claretta Elthridge and had two children. One of them, Rupert, married Winifred Running Goat, a native American Indian. They had five children. These included Trixie and Garwood. Trixie married Gaylord Stemple and they had children. Garwood married Clowta Stillman, and they had four offspring.
