[[Milhouse]] tells his buddies that [[Kirk]] has inherited $100,000 from an uncle he never meet. Milhouse tells his friends that he has opened a candy store, and he brings his friends there. The candy store makes Milhouse popular among all the children of Springfield. [[Bart]] gets a job as an assistant in the candy store and soon becomes jealous that Milhouse is more popular than him, and tries to become popular again but fails. Bart then tries to make Milhouse look bad. He tells all the kids that the store is handing out free samples, in hopes to get the store to go bankrupt. The samples become popular and the kids start to buy more candy instead, and Kirk earns even more money. Bart tries to spread negative reputation in the media about the store, but it becomes positive news instead. After a few days they sell the shop and Kirk starts to sell pagers instead, but no one buys any and he goes bankrupt. Bart is happy that Milhouse has lost his popularity, and becomes friends with Milhouse again.

Synopsis[edit]

"Milhouse becomes popular when his father opens a new candy store at the mall only to discover that fame can be fleeting."
