This will be the season 26 premiere. As Al Jean said[6], it won't be Edna Krabappel, due to Marcia Wallace's death[7] and Hank Azaria confirmed that it wasn't one of his characters.[8] It won't be Homer.[9] There will be a scene that will feature Lisa worrying about Homer's health as he struggles with a sleep mask.[9]
