Trivia
- This is the first appearance of Phil the reporter who appears again in "The Call of the Simpsons" before having a cameo in "Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish", then being mentioned in "The Springfield Files" and is eventually not seen again.
- A dog kennel can be seen outside of the Simpsons house in this short. This implies that the Simpsons have a dog or HAD a dog. The kennel is later seen in "Simpson Christmas".
