Well my exams are (near enough) over now, so I'll have plenty of time to edit here, as I have really been neglecting it. Anything that needs major attention? Gran2 10:59, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

I think we need an image copyright tag (even if it's just a copy of the Lostpedia or whatever), I remember that Lostpedia got in trouble for not having one on their images. Also, I've begun reworking the movie's page, using the Lostpedia episode structure. This is how I think all of the episode pages should be designed. Thoughts? Gran2 21:38, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Image Tag

What image tag would be for images from comics?? would it be fox? Kingcjc 19:39, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Main Page Transition

Hi Brian!

My name is Nathan and I'm a wikia helper with the entertainment team. We're going around helping wikis transition to the new style of main page that will be necessary to support the upcoming ads. I've created a draft of an idea for your main page in order to show the basic layout. Optimally, we'd like to get all main pages rolled over to the format as soon as possible, so feel free to use mine, or improve upon it. If you have any questions you can reach me via my talk page.

Thanks!

Vandalism?

I don't know if it was a Day of the Innocents joke, but HeavyWeaponsGuy vandalized the Homer Simpson article. I reverted what he did.--Gonzalo84 16:52, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Update

Hey Brian McClure, I've been editing here lately and have noticed the small community here. To combat that, I thought it may help stimulate this wiki if I changed up a few things, and to do them I would need administrator privileges. I talked to the active admins here, and they seem on board, so I thought I shall go through with it. You may now not be active here, but you are the last active bureaucrat so I assumed you would be able to get this. You can check my my talk page for what the active admins had to say. Thanks. Joey - Talk Contribs 06:06, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. Joey - Talk Contribs 15:22, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Promotion

Hi Brian! I've been working with Wikia's marketing manager on a cool promotional idea, and I'd love to talk to the other admins here to get some feedback. Can you drop me a line so we can talk about it? Thanks! —Scott (talk) 20:49, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Adminship

Hi, I am Dcasawang1. I want to request the adminship. The reasons I have are: - I want to help this wikia to improve it. - I want to fix it too. - I want to participate of the community and get better the wikia. - I have experience on wikis, especially in Avatar Wiki, where I have Rollback Rights. - Of course I know a lot of The Simpsons.

Thanks. Dcasawang1 - Talk 20:59, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Simpsons Timeline

Why did you delete my timeline? I know that it is contreversial on when the episodes are set due to the fact the characters don't age, but it is possible to cram all the episodes over 2 years.

Be warned!

Block this IP: 121.215.170.54 as it is a known vandal. It vandalizes ANYTHING. --TDM : Always here to help 16:54, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

I've regged now

yeah, thanks for that msg. i should have added another quote to that page -- the quote being my favourite Simpsons line (Snake: "Yoink-dot-adios-backslash-loser"), but that's just me. -Wack0- 19:32, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Simpsons Fanon

I was wondering if you would advertise the w:c:Simpsons Fanon we are closly related and I want us to be more closely related. --Anniemoose98, Wanna say Hi? 22:54, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Adminship nomination

Just so you know, as your burecrat, their is someone nominated for admin. Kingcjc 16:44, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

BUMP!. Admin and Bureaucrat request for you to look at.--Sgtcook (My Talk Page) 21:31, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

Hey

Hi. A few things have changed since you were last on. Sgtcook has became a bureaucrat, I am now an admin. We are also trying to get a Spotlight so we need lower protection on pages unless there is a strong history of vandalism on that page. See here for more details. Thanks, ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 06:22, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Ok then. After checking the history I see your point. I have also noticed that someone had reverted an edit since the protection was lowered. I will tell them that when we go for the spotlight. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 16:07, February 4, 2010 (UTC)

Bot

No. We don't have a bot here. I may look into making one after my exams are finished though as one may come in useful though but I am not too sure on how to make one. The Solar Dragon 05:05, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

Anyway, are you becoming active now or is this just a one off? The Solar Dragon 05:06, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
I am currently trying to make a bot. It is coming across errors though. The Solar Dragon 14:16, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

Got my bot working and will be doing other tasks with it that you asked for. The Solar Dragon 14:49, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

Brian Pollack & Mert Rich

They are two different people so should have an article each, no matter how similar they are. The Solar Dragon 17:35, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

The disambigs are fine. They lead to the two different things, such as Who Shot Mr. Burns?. There are two different episode. Please leave them alone. The Solar Dragon 17:38, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
sorry to have to block you but it is the only way I could get you to stop. I have asked the community to discuss you as well in a forum thread. The Solar Dragon 17:52, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
So how about unblocking me so I can at least defend myself? I promise I'll stop trying to improve the site. -- Brian McClure 18:02, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

So I try to help this site and instead I get blocked. Lovely. I'm sorry for upsetting people, but all I'm trying to do is help this place. When I first started here two years ago, it was a completely awful website, and I put in a lot of hard work to try to improve it, but it was simply too much for one person. I came back every now and then, and it slowly improved. However, this site has a LONG way to go before it could be considered a good wiki along the lines of Lostpedia or Memory Alpha. Users here seem FAR more concerned with quantity rather than quality. A lot of the articles are poorly written, but are users concerned with that? Nope, all they want to do is beef the site's page count. I've noticed that there are quite a few pointless disambiguations here (pages that haven't been touched in years), the only purpose of which is to bolster the site's page count. So I try to do something about it, and Solar Dragon, rather than engaging in a discussion with me (which is what he's encouraged to do) decides to block me, because I had the audacity to challenge his authority. And, rather than improve pages, he would rather engage in this silly activity. I admit, I have a bit of an abrupt way of doing things, but all I've tried to do is help this site, and for me to be blocked because of it would be ludicrous. Of course, why should I bother with a place that doesn't appreciate my help? -- Brian McClure 17:58, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I tried to talk to you about it. You just ignored me and went about it anyway. You have upset users since your return as I had an email from one of them and I don't know if you got the email I sent to you as you never replied. So, you can either leave or wait until the community decides. The Solar Dragon 18:02, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
Well, you did engage in an edit war with me. Like my user page says, I never check my e-mail, so you need to notify me first. -- Brian McClure 18:04, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
You are an admin. Feel free to unblock yourself. I won't mind, as long as you don't edit any more. I tried to tell you about it but you carried on anyway. The Solar Dragon 18:06, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
I tried to do what I thought was best for the site, what a monster I am. -- Brian McClure 18:08, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
It's not my fault you decided to ignore me though. I left a message on my talk page as I usually respond on my talk page and it is not my fault you ignored it and carried on is it. I will ask Smiley to decide on what's best as he is independent and is impartial. What he decides will go. The Solar Dragon 18:11, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

"Oh we have to let the community decide"

So after all this nonsense about community consensus and such, Solar the Dictator took it upon himself to remove my bureaucratic powers anyway.

I have no problem with the editors here, or even Solar Dragon the editor. My problem is with the way he's doing this. Rather than let users make up their own mind, he's threatening to leave, thus meaning a user is either with him or against him. And, since he's been here longer than I, it's going to work, and he knows it. That's what's pathetic. Rather than just editing, he's putting the site through this nonsense.

Quite frankly, I think he should resign after going through this. He made a mountain out of a molehill and showed his true colours. He's a petty authority-whore who couldn't stand having another crat here who had a mind of their own. You should resign as crat, and appoint someone who actually has a clue, like Smiley.

I've put a lot of work into this site and done a lot to promote it, and it's sad that it ends this way. But, this ordeal has been funny. Very very funny.

Thanks for the laugh, Brian McClure 18:50, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

I didn't remove you crat powers. Just your admin powers. You can reinstate them if you so wish but i think it will be better if we can not delete things or block people. The Solar Dragon 18:52, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, you blocked me, then removed my priviledges, so I'm powerless. Please delete my user page, I'm out of here. Hopefully, now that you've shown your true colours, the community will see you for the power hungry child you are.

I'll end my wikisimpsons career with a Simpsons quote (yes, despite this recent nonsense, this is still a Simpsons site): "I'm Troy McClure, and I now leave you with what we all came to see - hardcore nudity!" -- Brian McClure 18:59, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry

I doubt you will read this but I am sorry. It was a heat of the moment thing and I regret what I have said. When I get mad, I do things I regret. Sorry for my mistakes, The Solar Dragon 19:41, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

Don't quit due to idiocy Kingcjc 19:50, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

Well, that was certainly an interesting few hours. Solar was big enough to admit his mistake, so I will follow suit. I wish apologize to him for my comments (though I hope he can appreciate my point of view). I will also extend an apology to the site as a whole. As I've said before, it's far from perfect, but it's nice to see that there is a group of editors dedicated to it, and I sincerely hope that my actions have not driven any of them away.

However, I will still be going on a break. I am quite busy these days, which is why I've had the long absenses, but I decided to contribute here because I felt the site was on the right track, but could use some guidance. But I guess others weren't really looking for guidance, and that was the problem. Still, after this unpleasantness (which has really made me wonder why I should bother), I think I, and the other users, need a break from eachother.

I would like to impart some advice though.

Yes, this is a Simpsons-focused wikia, but there are a lot of pages that are kind of useless. Does each member of the Simpson family mentioned in the Uncensored Family Album need their own page? Couldn't they all be merged into one efficient page?

I also hope that users will start to focus more on content rather than page number and edit count. Sure, having a lot of pages means a lot of depth, but having interesting, well-written pages is what gets readers to stick around.

This is the proper way for me to leave, so good luck and until next time, Brian McClure 20:27, June 20, 2010 (UTC)

well, we should have an article on everything related to The Simpsons, including all characters so the Uncensored Family members should stay. I have also remade your user page with the standard layout thing to remove the red link, hope you don't mind. The Solar Dragon 20:33, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
Oh, and when you return, I will give you a little advice, come in slowly before you make the big changes, try to talk to the community before implementing them and get the community to know you more before you start to take part in admin discussions and the like. That may stop this from happening again. The Solar Dragon 20:34, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
"Solar was big enough to admit his mistake, so I will follow suit." Making some public apologies to people whom you disrespected would be a decent continuation. -- Mythigator 01:29, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
Had you bothered to read my entire statement, you would have seen this: "I will also extend an apology to the site as a whole." Either way, I stand by my opinion that anyone who can't recognize vandalism shouldn't be allowed to become an admin (whose main job is cleaning up vandalism). -- Brian McClure 02:51, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
Matter of fact, I did read your entire statement, and my assessment is "not good enough." You dissed people specifically; therefore, specific apologies are called for. As far as vandalism goes, the more you go on about that, the more you present yourself as judging without full knowledge of the facts -- which doesn't sound like a terribly good admin quality, either. Maybe you SHOULD have your powers stripped!! -- Mythigator 04:56, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
sigh, just stop dragging this thin Kingcjc 06:22, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
Welllll .... I've long since owned up to the one bad edit I made (which he insists on jumping on and blowing out all of proportion). If he'll make a similar concession to having conducted himself like a jerk as I did to screwing up, I'd be inclined to call that good. -- Mythigator 07:50, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

OK Brian. Please stop going on about this one little mistake. Every user makes mistakes, you have as well. I have, Effuvlium has, Dohayecarumbadoh has. Basically every user on this wiki has made a mistake. That's human nature. People make mistakes. So stop going on about it. The Solar Dragon 07:56, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

This whole thing is a mistake that should end now Kingcjc 15:18, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

I've put some thought into this, and I've come to the decision that I don't want to leave. Why should I let some immature users, who care more about personal vendettas than the good of the site, chase me away? Besides, I won't be around a lot longer anyway, so I might as well help while I can and want to. I'll be professional, and I hope others will follow suit. However, I'll be stawing away from the bureaucratic nonsense this time and sticking to what I do best: editing. Now, let's let this thing go and return to improving the site. -- Brian McClure 18:01, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

woot Kingcjc 18:35, June 21, 2010 (UTC)
That works for me. From what I see of your writing, you're a damn terrific editor and the wiki would be worse off without your skills. Shall we consider the hatchet buried? -- Mythigator 00:06, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Trappuccino

Hi, the whole incident was called Trappuccino. There is no in-universe reference to it being called The Dome Incident therefore Trappuccino is the name it should be called. The Solar Dragon 09:37, July 1, 2010 (UTC)

Achievements

Hi, on Preferences under the tab misc. There is an option at the bottom that says: Hide my achievements on my user page when I visit it and don't notify me of earned badges. Tick this to stop the messages. Solar Dragon 13:46, July 18, 2010 (UTC)

Song deletions

I was just trying to add articles about songs found in various Simpsons productions, including The Simpsons Game, and they just got deleted. Is this Wikia actually looking for help to do articles for songs? (VicGeorge2K9 00:10, August 1, 2010 (UTC))

Sure, we're definitely looking for help with copyediting, maintaining articles, improving articles, etc. However, adding articles for extremely minor parts of episodes doesn't help us that much. -- Brian McClure 00:28, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Mark Hamill Character Article

Not a disambiguation, but a unique article about Mark Hamill the character, as opposed to Mark Hamill the real-life voice actor. -- Mythigator 02:57, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Question: What's the significance with having a real-life person's "character" article titled with "character" (lower-case c) vs. "Character" (upper-case C)? If it's a big deal, please let me know and I'll fix the other articles with the issue AND not repeat the same thing in the future. Thanks. -- Mythigator 13:38, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
I don't really see this as a major issue at all. It is too minor to really be mentioned and I don't really care, neither do anyone else. I don't see how it is "counterproductive". Could you just stop blowing things out of proportion? Thanks, ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 13:41, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
That's not true, Mythigator obviously cares, since he decided to recreate the page at a redirect, which IS counterproductive. We need to start encouraging users to do things correctly, otherwise you end up with a big mess. You may consider it "blowing things out of proportion", but I'm simply attempting to help users improve their editing. Perhaps you should try to do the same. -- Brian McClure 13:48, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
Please refer to my talk page, gents. I honestly don't care which case it's supposed to be, but I do care about getting it right. The only issue is that Brian and I don't have the same understanding of what a disambiguation is. Since he's been around here longer, I'll defer to his opinion and make sure that any "(character)" articles I make get the appropriate title case. No problem! :-) -- Mythigator 13:54, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Warnings

If you suspect a user of vandalism or adding false information, please use the {{subst:Vandalism}} template as a warning instead of going straight for a block unless they have done a lot of different things wrong. This limits the chance of false blocks and the user can explain themselves too.

Also, I am sorry to say that a person who has not signed up yet has told me that he was slightly reluctant to as you intimidated him. I have persuaded him to join up but if this happens to one user, chances are it could happen to others too. So, could you maybe tone things down a bit please? Thanks, ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 20:09, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

I admit, I was a bit hasty in blocking the user, but I have no patience for vandals and creating three fake episode pages should be enough to warrant a block.
And I love how you keep getting these anonymous complaints against me. Why don't you stop trying to create drama and just improve the site? -- Brian McClure 20:25, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
Well, all these complaints show that people distrust you actually and are intimidated by you. This is not good for an administrator. This one was over the IRC channel. I can give you the transcript for it if you want, in fact here it is:
[20:52]	<Bitey>	I was thinking about joining the site

[20:59]	<Solar_Dragon>	Not many users like him and I have had complaints about him before
[21:00]	<Bitey>	Okat I think I will join

The Solar Dragon☆ 20:27, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

If "Not many users like" me, that means I'm doing my job. As admins, we need to be leaders and do what we can to improve the site. This means articles need to be deleted, users need to be blocked, and warnings need to be issued so we can keep things on the right path. It's not easy to do, and things are made harder if you're going to lecture me everytime I try to do my job, and if you're going to play these games. In the future, if anyone has a complaint about me, tell them to bring it to me directly. Feedback is much better coming directly, not from a second hand source. -- Brian McClure 20:45, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
Admins are NOT leaders. We are the same as any other user, just with a few extra tools. If users are scared and intimidated by us then we are failing them. It is not doing our job to scare users so much, they do not want to join. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 20:48, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
Oh, and the reson users don't come to you directly is because they are probably afraid that you would block them or something. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 20:48, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
I don't mean leader in the elected sense. I mean leader as in, we're expected to give out guidance, help others and maintain order. It's like the friendly janitor in The Breakfast Club: you do a lot of cleaning, some maintaining of order, and you give a few sage words here and there. Besides, I haven't had any comfrontations with any unregistered users since I got back (well, other than the IP I blocked for adding those fake episode titles), so I'm not sure what intimidation you're referring to.
And your accusation that I would block someone who complains about me is rather insulting, especially coming from someone who has a history of blocking users because of minor disagreements. When have I ever abused the admin tools? -- Brian McClure 20:56, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
I didn't suggest you do abuse your tools. I was just saying that is how it would look to a new user. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 20:58, August 1, 2010 (UTC)
  • This was going to be further up but had been edited since i tried to post so;

Give it a rest. Stop critising each other harshly. For one thing, not many users liking is a side effect of being an admin and enforcing the policies (or in my experience). Admins are leaders, in the sense of examples. You need to set an example and stop bickering, as other users may find it acceptable. Kingcjc 21:09, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

'Admins are NOT leaders. We are the same as any other user, just with a few extra tools. If users are scared and intimidated by us then we are failing them. It is not doing our job to scare users so much, they do not want to join'.

I got that one, Solar Dragon, one of the nicest admins. Me (and a unknown guy, my lawyer in this. ) are, in a matter of badges, the 2 best users on the wiki that are not a rollback, admin, or bureaucrat. As the more active of the 2, I have seen a lot. IPs have IRCed saying they are scared. Even MY IP was blocked by this guy. Admins can be strict, but not this strict. Even Rollbacks are starting to get worried, I bet. Talk to a real one, aka THE HOMER. I am not talking about Solar Dragon, Smiley12, etc., but Brian, stop being strict. Just because you are an admin does not mean you are better than everyone. My lawyer, TreehouseOfBiscuit&Sons will have a few words. I rest my case. TheSimpsons Talk 16:47, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

In further inspection, Brian McClure right in the first paragraph. Except that was my IP, Brian. Another IP had a setup. Lift it. Solar blocks a lot, but only vandals. Not harmless new users that dont know the rules. Solar is right in paragraph 3. Kingcjc, read my last post. Really, you are right, but don't say you that admins are the best, 'cause they are not. Bueraucrats are the best. TheSimpsons Talk 16:59, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I'm starting to get confused by this. So, if this IP was yours, does that mean you added the fake titles? -- Brian McClure 17:22, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, but nvm that. Do you think I would make a good rollback? I qualify. Sorry TheSimpsons Talk 17:31, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

So you did make up those three episode titles? -- Brian McClure 17:32, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

No, I originally found it on list of simpsons publications by date. I admit i should of checked the history to make sure it was a trusted user, but my brain was a rush. TheSimpsons Talk 17:36, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

The IP that added it to releases by date was 87.113.99.20 TheSimpsons Talk 16:20, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Horray, I got a lucky edit! TheSimpsons Talk 16:22, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Creating badges

While you're at it, could you create some badges for location articles.TheUnderfaker 00:18, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

I can try, but I have to admit that I'm not the greatest when it comes to making graphics. It might be a better idea to ask Smiley or Solar. -- Brian McClure 01:14, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

Bartholomew JoJo Simpson is descriptive, name 1 thing wrong with it. Links improve the site, besides, none of them are red links. The & thing was the stupid one, I admit that.

TheSimpsons Talk 21:09, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

That was a quick fix. TheSimpsons Talk 04:03, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

Re:Adminship

Are you...? Really? Well, I think I will nominate myself if you suggest it. And this time I will add what I would do with the powers. Thanks! :) — TheHomer (TalkContributions) 20:25, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I did see that episode.

It may have been a bit of a while, but I did see that episode. And actually, I was pretty certain that Homer was the one driving, since the two other bullies were in the back seat and Jimbo was where Marge was. Now the Holiday Knights episode I definitely never saw. Weedle McHairybug 16:09, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I thought your edit summary meant that you hadn't seen the episode. -- Brian McClure 16:13, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

Yes

So they let you back, huh? Gran2 16:43, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do. Although I'd rather spend my time writing real Wikipedia articles, the kind that make Al Jean get angry. And that NoD'ohnuts guy is still at Wikipedia (he currently has fou sub-par Simpsons articles at GAN). Gran2 16:56, August 11, 2010 (UTC)
We should. I was actually thinking about that little 'episode' at the end of "Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner" commentary the other day... do they mention Wikipedia on season 12's commentaries? I never bothered buying it. There was also another perfect Jean Wikipedia quote somebody posted on NoHomers... [1] - "Honestly, the Simpsons wikipedia entry is more informative [than Ortved's evil libellious book]." Gran2 17:17, August 11, 2010 (UTC)
Well I'll guess we'll have to wait and see when he's let loose on season 13. And if they punished Hank, I'd hate to see what they did to Harry Shearer for all the times he's said the show is awful now. To be honest, I think most of the cast (certainly Hank and Harry) couldn't care less about the show anymore. Most of the time it doesn't sound like they're trying when they're recording now, and none of cast even bother going to Comic-Con. I would ask Harry or Hank on Twitter, but I don't think there's a nice way to say "Do you only still turn up for The Simpsons so you can get your $400,000 an episode pay check?". Oh well. You could also try and contact Ortved [2] - see if we can interview him, then you could source things like the lawsuit. Gran2 17:46, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

I just created a new template.

Achievements

Hello, I was wondering how I could have achievements on my wiki. I would like to know how to add achievements to a wiki, I think it would work well on my wiki. Please leave a message on my talk page. Thanks. Crampsy Talk 19:27, August 15, 2010 (UTC)

If he showran an episode then he does. Which did he do? As for his unproduced episode, I think it's pretty much a guarentee it was about religion. But surely Nancy is the only Scientologist? And wasn't "The Joy of Sect" based on Scientology anyway? I'd really love to know but I doubt you know who would tell us though, even off the record. Gran2 23:45, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

"Legal ramifications" sounds more than them just being sued, though, but you're probably right. Perhaps it was some kind attack on all religions which would have caused some national outrage? As for writers who have edited Wikipedia, we may as well do a full page of that, the times Wikipedia has been mentioned in the show, the commentaries, Jean's "informed opinions" about it and the approval we've got from sane people like Bill and Phil Hartman's brother John. Gran2 00:26, September 11, 2010 (UTC)
Cheers. And no, still nothing. I think I'll message him again later today in case the last one didn't get through. Gran2 07:55, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, that did kill my soul this morning. Really says a lot about this place. And yes, might as well just include the normal episodes. Gran2 21:53, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
I've created an infobox for cast and recurring guest stars. If you want to add/subtract any fields from it, be my guest. Especially if you know how to get it so the fields don't appear if you don't put anything in them (as needs to be done for the last one). Gran2 23:31, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
Success. We have three possible times. Wing me a message when you have time so we can do some prep on IRC. Gran2 10:39, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

Template:Small

Hi, We already have a template like that under Template:C. I don't know why it is called that, that is the name it was on other wikis. Thanks, ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 16:16, September 12, 2010 (UTC)

Hola!

Hola amigo! How are you today? If you are wondering who I am, I am from the Spyro Wiki, and I am just here to do some cleaning up and obtain new ideas to help my wiki without stealing. Talk to me anytime! UxieLover1994 05:05, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Brian!

I got your message about me editing the WWII Jeep article. Unfortunately, I have no plans to make a WikiSimpsons account at this time, but I'm thinking about it. Write back whenever you can....

Introducing Wikia's new look:

Greetings! As many of you have already seen, Wikia is undergoing some major changes to their site layout. As of Wednesday, October 6th, the change will affect both the appearance and how things are done on several wikis, and come October 20th these changes will effect all Wikia sites. These changes are mandatory as this is not simply a new skin option, it’s actually an upgraded version of the core Mediawiki platform itself. Check out "Experience the new Wikia" for a look at some wikis using the new look, FAQ and the Transition guide.

Transitioning to the New Look

We know you’ve put a lot of work into making your wikis look great in Monaco, so we’ve worked on our end to minimize the amount of effort needed for you to move to the new look. Still, there are some things you’ll want to do in order for your wiki to look its best in the new skin. We strongly encourage you to use our Wiki Transition Guide to make this process as smooth and seamless as possible.

Our new theme designer tool will be available to everyone during the first stage of sitewide roll-out on October 6th. This gives you time to experiment with different themes and chat with your community about what looks best before all visitors see your wiki in the new look.

We know that many of you are Wikia experts, and have a ton of experience to share with newer users, who may need more help with the transition. To tap all your knowledge, we will soon be setting up a page where users can request and provide help on the transition.

Timeline

The next step is to slowly but surely move all wikis over to the new skin. While there may be some tweaks, the projected schedule is below so that you know what to expect over the coming weeks.

October 6, 2010
  • The new look will continue to be default for logged-out users on the beta wikis
  • All logged in users will be able to “switch on” the new look for themselves on any wiki they visit.
  • All new wikis created will automatically use the new look.
  • Every wiki in the Wikia Lifestyle Hub will showcase the new look.
October 20, 2010
  • All users will see the new look on every wiki.
  • Logged in users will have the temporary option of viewing and editing wikis in Monaco.
November 3, 2010
  • The option to use Monaco will be removed.

Discontinued features

  • The widget dashboard and all widgets are to be discontinued as they were deemed to be underused.
  • "Report a Problem" links will also be discontinued with the new skin as they were not used as intended.
  • "Email a user" link is gone.
  • Page ratings are gone.

New features

  • New, customizable toolbar that is anchored at the bottom of the screen (Watch the demo video to see how it works.) You will need to learn to use this. (requires JavaScript)
  • New tool for customizing the colour scheme/theme, including default themes.

Other changes

  • The new look uses a fixed width layout, we are not permitted to change, which might influence the layout of articles quite a bit.
  • Wiki logo is replaced with "Wordmark", which admins can customize by adjusting the text & color, or by uploading an image in the theme designer.
  • Site notice is no longer on every page. It is now located in the Community Corner and users will receive a notification bubble each time it is updated.
  • The wiki navigation that is now on the left sidebar, is moving to the top of the screen. It will have 4 drop down menus, with 7 links each. This is substantially less than we currently have. (requires JavaScript)
  • "My Home" becomes "Wiki Activity" and contains a link to recent changes
  • There is a new sidebar area on the right that takes about 1/3 of each page's width, where the recent activity and other "modules" will sit. More "modules" are being developed for it, but there are currently no plans for user-developed modules.
  • Moved the most recent editor’s name from the bottom of the page to the top, added an avatar, and a new mini-history dropdown menu, which contains the link to the full history. (Supposed to make it more obvious to new users that anyone can edit a wiki.) (requires JavaScript)
  • Two of the categories are listed at top as well the full list at the bottom. Apparently the two chosen will be the categories containing the most pages. There is a blacklist to keep out typical maintenance categories, but it is not wiki specific (atm).
  • Edit and talk buttons will be used instead of written links.
  • The name of the user who uploaded a picture will be listed underneath the image caption on articles.
  • The "Terms of Use" are changed so that we will only have very limited options on what we may change on the new layout that is visible to all users.

Terms of Use

In keeping with the goals of the new look, our Terms of Use have been updated as well. Admins will no longer be able to completely remove core features for all users by using custom CSS or JavaScript. This is to protect the universal layout and functionality of every wiki on Wikia and ensure that users have access to all of the features available in the new design. Remember, these new terms only apply to the CSS of the wiki as a whole -- they don’t apply to your personal pages.

To give a few practical examples of what this means: It’s not permitted to remove the right sidebar modules, blogs, and image attribution or add a banner that shifts the entire content area down the page, or alter the fixed width. You can still personalize your wiki with different colors and themes, add large, standout images to the wiki background, create styled templates and tables within the content area. There are plenty of ways to be creative! While these terms will limit what you can do to the overall layout, creativity is still an essential part of Wikia.
