Season: 28
First appearance: "The Nightmare After Krustmas"

"The Bashin' of the Christ" is an episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show.

History[edit]

After Krusty turned Christian, he played a Christian episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show during The Krusty the Clown Show. It wasn't well liked by the audience.

Plot[edit]

Itchy pull a gun out on Scratchy, who shocked and frightened pulls out a gun of his own, but when they fire them, flags with "Isaiah 2:4" written on them came out of the barrels. Itchy then says "thy shall beat thy swords into plowshares" and Scratchy says "I think its about time we put on some clothes." As the two put on sweaters and pants, Poochie's halo'd ghost comes by on roller skates and announces "and then this happened!."

Theme song[edit]

They pray,
They pray,
They pray and they don't slay,
Pray, pray, pray, they found a way,
The pious mouse and cat!

Behind the Laughter[edit]

The episode name is a reference to The Passion of the Christ.

Isaiah 2:4 says: "He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore."
