Mimi Pond is an American author and cartoonist who has written and illustrated five humor books and has a career spanning over 25 years. She wrote the season 1 episode "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", which happened to be the first ever full-length episode of the show. She was a friend of the show's creator, Matt Groening, when he asked her to write an episode of The Simpsons.
