Character Information

The Hey Hey Guy, or as known to some as The Hey Hey Man, is a mysterious man who appears in Homer's Night Out. He has seen the photo of Homer and Princess Kashmir and after seeing Homer at the Kwik-E-Mart, yells out "Hey Hey!" to which Homer replies "I hear you, buddy." He has been reportedly seen by various Springfielders throughout the years, usually greeting them with his usual line of "Hey Hey!", but his true purpose lies unknown.
Origin
In 1962, 33-year old Shelbyville resident Ernest Stockman caused a family of three to drive off a road and into a tree, killing everyone abroad. Stockman was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences in prison. However, due to a heart condition he died briefly three times while incarcerated, thus fulfilling the life sentences and forcing the court to release him after five years. The citizens of Shelbyville did not take this news well, and a mob was formed to drive Stockman out of town. Whether the mob ever got to Stockman is unclear, but Stockman was never seen in Shelbyville again.
Stockman was then sighted in neighboring Springfield, appearing only to one person on any given night, giving them his infamous greeting then usually wandering off somewhere. No one has ever seen him more than once.
Legends
- The most popular belief is that the Hey Hey Guy was slain by the mob and was buried in Springfield's Tire Yard.
- As Krusty The Clown's famous line is also "Hey hey!", many believe him to have a history with Hey Hey Guy, the most popular rumor being that Krusty stole Hey Hey Guy's catchphrase and rode it to success, which drove Hey Hey Guy to a deep depression and suicide, and now has returned as a ghost for revenge on Krusty.
- While not THE Wandering Jew, Hey Hey Guy is A Wandering Jew, having been cursed to roam the earth by one of the mob members until the Third Coming.
- Hey Hey Man is a harbinger of impending death to anyone who encounters him, though this been heavily discredited due to the fact that no one who has been known to see him has died yet.
- According to Herman, Hey Hey Man can be driven away with only three shots from an anti-tank gun.
